I am Kristin, a conservative homeschooling mom of 11 children who grew up in a strict, Baptist school environment where secular and even contemporary Christian music (CMC) was banned. Growing up in the 80's, I was not about to not notice all the amazing music around, so I rebelled -- but not to the point of listening to CMC or Christian rock, which I considered sub-par and hypocritical (thanks, in part, to the Baptist environment.)

When I was almost 20, I was introduced to CMC that was starting to get a lot of attention. The group was Petra and I was captivated. I threw myself whole-heartedly into CMC and now have children that love modern Christian rock bands. Though I am a conservative Evangelical and a SAHM to many children, I've still found interest and pleasure in both secular and Christian music. The genres I am drawn to are CMC, pop, hard rock, classical, country pop, alternative metal, and (now) symphonic metal (thanks to Nightwish and "Ghost Love Score.")
