Weather has been an obsession since I was a kid watching storms roll off the mountains in Pickens, South Carolina — and honestly, not much has changed.

I'm Gerald Mengel — meteorologist, storm chaser, and probably the only person you know who considers a tornado warning a reason to drive toward something. I hold a degree in Meteorology and have worked as a broadcast meteorologist in one of the nation's top 25 television markets, so I know my way around both a forecast model and a live camera.

On GMWeather I break down the big weather stories — severe outbreaks, winter storms, hurricane threats, pattern shifts — with real analysis, not just a pretty map. I'll show you the models, explain the ingredients, and tell you exactly what I think is going to happen and why.
