Wandering Knapps aboard MV Illuminate

We are a family of 5 from Texas. (plus 2 cats) We have dreamed of living on a boat and traveling the Caribbean for years. We sold everything in the summer of 2019 and left Texas with dream and a (sort of) plan.

We boat shopped for months and found our new home in The Florida Keys, a 1987 47 TradeWinds, Marine Trader, Trawler/ Motor Boat. We took almost 2 months in a boat yard fixing more things that we thought possible.

Then another 8 months in a marina to get her all ready.

We finally got on the water and started our exploration of the Florida Keys. We are currently in the keys an plan to start in the Bahamas and continue south through the Caribbean over the next few years. Join our journey as we travel and have fun together. We hope to bring light and hope everywhere we go and inspire you to live beyond yourself and follow your passion.
