M. Saban Smith Woodturning

I'm Martin Saban-Smith, a woodturner based in Hampshire, UK. This channel is where I share my woodturning projects, techniques, and the thinking behind each piece.

I make workshop films that sit a bit apart from most woodturning on here, and that's deliberate. Each one's shot across several cameras and edited by me, with music chosen to suit the mood and the character of the timber. There's a voiceover throughout, but I never script it. I just talk through what I'm doing and why, then cut hours down to around twenty minutes.

You won't hear "step one, step two." But if you're paying attention, there's a lot in the room: tool selection, technique, design decisions, working through problems. And even if you never pick up a gouge, there's something in watching someone make a difficult thing look possible. The inspiration doesn't come from being told what to do. It comes from seeing what can be done.
