DEVO is an American new wave band formed in Akron, Ohio in 1973. Founded by Gerald V. Casale, Mark Mothersbaugh and Bob Mothersbaugh, the group pioneered a multimedia approach combining music, film, performance art and social commentary. Known for hits including “Whip It,” DEVO remains one of the most influential and innovative bands of the modern era.
